Lori Smith

Lori Smith has served in OCIA since 2000 at St. John the Baptist Parish in Chico, California, where she successfully transitioned from a school year model to a year-round process. She has developed and implemented a family approach to Christian initiation which serves unbaptized children of catechetical age and their parents. As formation chair of the Christian Initiation Committee for the Diocese of Sacramento, she presents at workshops, mentors, and develops formation for OCIA teams. A graduate of the Bosco Catechumenal Ministry Track, Lori is also a mentor and task writer for the Catechetical Institute. Her passions are accompanying people into relationship with Christ and his Church and helping OCIA coordinators develop strong Christian initiation processes for their parishes.
